The Land Rover models manufactured between 23 August and 12 of November 2010 are being recalled because of an announcement issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Here’s the statement:

The shorting bar in the clock spring may become disconnected when the driver’s air bag module connector is installed, which means the driver’s frontal airbag may not deploy as intended or at all and therefore will not be able to properly protect the driver, increasing the risk of injury

Of course, there will be no charges for the owners, but it’s quite a shame for such a car manufacturer to have to recall almost 3000 units because of a potential life security issue. If you consider the airbag an important life saving device.
