2011 Maybach limousine
Good news if you’ve got more money than you know what to do with it, as new reports indicate that the Maybach luxury brand might stay alive, even though Mercedes-Benz was rumored to pull the plug on the high end division.

According to a new report, the next generation Mercedes-Benz S Class will supply a new basis for improved and even more luxurious Maybach models in the next few years. Besides the new platform, the cars will have even more powerful engines but will be more economical.

The fuel average might also be improved with the help of a hybrid system, which would even allow the Maybach limousines to travel certain distances on just electric power. You’ll still use that massive 6.0-liter V12 afterwards, but it’s the eco-conscious thought that counts, right?

For rich people that want to feel the wind in the hair, it seems that the Maybach range might also get a four-door coupe model, with a convertible top. This will be a full pledged convertible, not like the current semi-convertible Laundaulet version.

Nothing is certain just yet, but you might want to save up some cash if you want the next generation Maybach models.
