The Japanese can maker want to join the social media crowd and the launch of the new Mazda 2 gave them the perfect occasion. So Mazda came up with a social game similar to the ones that made Zynga the giant that it is today. It’s called DriverVille (yes, not very original there, but maybe that is the point) and it basically gives you the opportunity to build your own car, customize it and race against your friends. But besides having fun, you can also win 64GB iPods Touch and, of course, a 2011 Mazda2.
I believe it’s a nice effort to enter the social media fans’ universe without imposing on it and I think this particular campaign will be pretty successful.
