Here we are, in Europe, in the lovely, romantic Spain. Like all Latin countries, Spain has passionate drivers and their blood is hot red. If you happen to plan your vacation here, there are some things you might want to know about driving in this country.
1. No matter how eager you are, drivers will not let you off into the lane from a turning. If you don’t floor it, there’s a good chance you’ll be spending a lot of time waiting.
2. Speed limits are for suckers. Spanish drivers were born to become race drivers and they know it. If you’re not comfortable with that and you’re not at all competitive, you won’t be having a lot of fun.
3. There is no road rage in Spain. Spaniards are very relaxed people. They’ll just flash you until you get the point and get out of the way. As simple as that.
4. What Spanish drivers do love is tailgating. But, as said before, there is no point in getting angry about it. Just accept it and move on.
5. When going around a roundabout, Spanish drivers will not care about priority. That’s why you’d better watch for anything that might come your way. It’s a vicious circle.
6. When parking, Spanish drivers will use the bumpers. They are made for bumping into stuff after all, aren’t they? So don’t expect them to be all nice and shinny after 2 days in Spain.
7. If you get a fine, you’d better pay it on the spot (with whatever means available) or else you could get your car impounded or visit the local prison. I don’t think they serve paella there.
8. Don’t even think about drinking and driving. Spain has strict drink driving laws, only allowing 0.5 milligrams of alcohol per milliliter of blood. Unless you want to pay a visit to the local police department, you’d better lay off the sangria.
9. If you’re thinking of taking your new car for a spin, you’d better not. Owning a new car in Spain is a one day affair.
10. He who has the biggest “cojones”, wins.
If you have any more insights into Spanish driving and you’d like to share, please do. I’m very curios to find out more.

Concerning the speed limit, I think they are Romanians in disguise
